He has set praise and strength in our very core to silence the enemy and the avenger (Matt. 21:15, Psalm 8:2). Therefore, praise is the perfect weapon as it takes our eyes off of the battle and puts them on the victor, our Savior Jesus Christ. Instead of wallowing in your mess and being bound by chains or burdens praise God (just like Paul and Silas did) for he will deliver you from this bondage. You will never break free lying in self-pity.
between you and God. You can chose to participate in this relationship or passively watch is pass by. I for one chose the former.
Song of Solomon 3:1-4 states:
“On my bed by night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but found him not. I will rise now and go about the city, in the streets and in the squares; I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but found him not. The watchmen found me as they went about in the city. ‘Have you seen him whom my soul loves?’ Scarcely had I passed them when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her who conceived me.”
In the Hebrew, the statement “him whom my soul loves” is very singular, showing that the seeker’s soul desires nothing else, only “him whom my soul loves”. NO OTHER DESIRES!
Also, the watchmen, as referenced in this verse, are prophetic people who are supposed to be able to lead others to God. However, in this verse they were unable to help.
Finally, the statement “held him” in this verse is referring to taking something into full possession.
Basically, this passage starts off with the speaker not putting much effort into the act of seeking, since she is resting. However, when it is notice that she will never find “him whom my soul loves” by lying in rest, she gets up and goes to look for him. She moves to a new level of intensity in seeking three times, even to the point of asking of help from the watchmen (who were unable to help) until finally she finds “he whom my soul loves”.
This is to say you have to go past the watchmen and seek God. You can not depend upon others to take you into His presence. You must arouse yourself to go after God, not wait for someone to bring Him to you or push you towards Him. If you want to be in His presence, you must actively seek him, and once you find Him, never let him go. Go ahead, get to know Him through His word, worship Him, connect with others who are loving on Jesus, and by doing this you will deepen you relationship with God.

and that’s kind of sad because I actually prefer being alone most of the time. I need human interaction of some sort.
